Watch me
circle the basin
in this concave mirror
all porcelain and rust
Let me see
the surface scum
in place of
the surface calm
the soapy water
gray with my mystique
The ring I leave
around the sink
watch it grow
the little whirlpool
at the end
the water’s quick retreat
and mine
down the drain.
