Back there
The grass is still
Rising through cracks
In the New England streets.
The trees are still bright,
Unsplintered by ice,
The way they all were
In the 90’s
Before the storm.
Somewhere in the
Hopscotch fable of time,
The black dog sniffs, then follows.
We will be green forever.
