A chariot in Adam’s cloud pioneers a halo
Fork the lightning with the last hand on rein and hallelujah a hero
Elijah broke his tears and simmered angels in fire at zero
At Capernaum, the fish broken for Christ’s sake are healed;…
They are reformed, a new light in their scales revealed
As they minister the orphaned ocean’s tide keeled
Sermons. There is no need for simple flesh to walk the water
Now. This anchor staked to my heart, this brine bloated blood
Is enough to marvel upon. Gospel the advent flood
Sacred the pulse, the soil and tick tock toil of bread and butter.
