by Luke McGinty
now let your predecessors ride
within your bones and in your eyes
for what are we but things that live
and mark the Earth for having been
a moment here and quite alive
so carry them, the ones who died
and lived before you just as real
as you who now might take the wheel
and take a chance at marking well
with lifetime’s stories worth a tell
to children who will carry you
This poem zipped along and was quite so very tasty
